The functions of LED dimmer which used to dim LED lighting products play more and more important on illumination. More and more customers take it seriously. The LED lighting products have become the mainstream of new technological in the 21th.century. There are two ways to dim the LED lighting products. These two ways is simulate dimmer and PWM dimmer.
Below is a brief introduction the ways of dimmer:
The first way is that they dim the brightness of the light by the way of diming the current of the lamp. The brightness of the light is in proportion to the current. So we can control the brightness of the lamp by diming the current of the lamp.
The second way is linear modulator way. The advantage of this way is when the drive current increase or decrease by linear, they avoid to shock the LED chip and effect the span life of the LED chip. The disadvantage of this way is that it changes the color temperature of the lamp when we dim the current.
The third way is PWM way. The PWM is a great way of dimming LEDs by adjusting ratio of on/off quickly. The rule of thumb is higher than 100Hz frequency PWM make human can not see the flickering. The advantage of this way is they improve the dissipated of the lamp. The disadvantage of this way is it’s no doubt effect the span life of the lamp.
In a word, linear modulator way is easy to do it. But for single color, the wave length will be changed.
And for white color, the CCT will be changed. PWM can make sure the color you want. They are more
popular in the markets.
